You need to sleep enough each night to be able to perform to your best ability during the day ……. Or, that is what we have been told multiple times. And, for many people that is the real truth, but, for others, this regular type of sleep is not possible.
Some of the most famous, successful persons in history, had, or still has sleeping habits that are considered to be strange.
Famous people and their Sleeping Habits:
Leonardo Da Vinci; took 20-minute naps every four hours.
Thomas Edison; believed that sleep was a waste of time. He slept as little as possible and followed a nap-orientated sleep cycle to try and make-up more waking time.
Sigmund Freud; experimented with self-medicating of large dosages of cocaine which led to only 6 hours of sleep at night.
Wolfgang Mozart; liked to keep on composing until 01:00 AM. He would then sleep until 06:00 AM. and then start composing again.
Benjamin Franklin; promoted the early bird catches the worm sleeping concept. His famous piece of advice was, “Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.”
Donald Trump; deliberately sleeps only 3 hours each night. He believes to stay ahead of your competition you need to stay awake.
Margaret Thatcher; got by with only 4 hours of sleep each night. This caused problems for her successor because people were used to having her available the whole time and he could not keep up.
There are people that get by with only 2 hours sleep at night. Even though most people might need the “prescribed” norm of 6 to 9 hours of sleep each night, reports show that many people can get by on fewer hours of sleep.
