Somalia : Shebelle’s reporter lose his life in suicide blast in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU ( Sh. M. Network ) – Mohamed Amin Aden Abdulle, Shabelle reporter in Mogadishu has Thursday lost his life in a suicide blast targeted to Shamo hotel in Mogadishu which also caused more deaths and injuries as graduation ceremony continued at hotel in south Mogadishu.

 

More people including TFG minister, Professors, students, doctors and journalists died as big suicide explosion targeted to Shamo hotel in Mogadishu as well decorated graduating ceremony for the students of Banadir University was going on on in the hotel.

 

Mohamed Amin Aden Abdulle, Shabelle’s reporter and Hassan Zubeyr Haji “Fantastic”  Al-arabia TV photographer and former technician of Shabelle and Yasir Mari, a Somali freelance were killed in the explosion and more others including Mohamed Aweys Mudey, program producer of Somaliweyn radio, Omar Faruq, Reuters’ photographer and one of Universal TV cameraman were wounded in the blast.

 

The reporter died instantly when shrapnel from the blast hit him on the head.

 

All the staff of Shabelle radio and television got shock when they heard the death of Mohamed Amin Aden Abdulle and rushed to Shamo hotel where the accident took place after blast and took him between pieces of dead bodies who scattered in the hotel and died in blast.

 

Deceased Mohamed Amin was buried in Mogadishu.

 

Mohamed Amin was 25, he joined the journalism in 2006. He first started working as journalism in a Radio Jowhar in Jowhar, the central town of Middle Shabelle region also being the agent reporter of GBC radio and Television based in Mogadishu.

 

After that deceased Mohamed Amin had moved to Mogadishu and started working for Somaliweyn radio in the capital where he operated since two years.

 

Mohamed had joined Shabelle radio and Television in mid 2009. He was a program producer and covered the news reports form the capital. He produced a daily program (Dabagalka Wararka) on Thursday morning which is listened in Mogadishu everyday except the Friday. Amin lastly died in huge blast in Shamo hotel as he was continuing his work.

 

 Amim’s father Aden Abdulle was one of the national Somalia army who recently died in Mogadishu as mortar shell landed to Martini hospital, a centre for the former national Somali army who lost their limbs in the war between Somali and Ethiopia in 1977.

 

Mohamed Amin’s Mother also died earlier and he was the only elder son of their family which consisted of two sons and a daughter.

 

Deceased Mohamed Amin Aden Abdulle was the only person that used to support and kept his family (brothers and sister) as he was working as journalist and encountering more difficulties.

 

Most of the Somalis sent their deep condolences to the relatives of Mohamed Amin Aden and also the others who died in the explosion and begged Allah to rest them his paradise.

 

More Somali journalists had expressed concern and sorrowfull about the Somali journalists who lost their lives today and also those who were in injured in the blast which occurred at Shamo hotel in the Somalia capital Mogadishu.
