Allahu Akbar: Al-Shabaab Mujahideen attacked strongly the camp of Gabre in Mogadishu

Saturday 24 jamaadul-awal 1429 = 31/05/2008

The Mujahideen of Al-Shabaab conducted this afternoon a heavy battle on the University Gahayr which is a camp for the infidel leader of the Tigree (gabre).

The Mujahideen who was well prepared attacked from 4 sides on the are of the university, and they started firing bullets and mortars on the place the Ethiopians especially guard which is the university Gahayr.

The leaders of the Mujahideen told us that they attacked furious the university gahayr, which is the place were the bodyguards of Gabre, also the Mujahideen especially targeted the house where this disbeliever(gabre) lives in.

After the battle the Mujahideen shower mortars like rain on the same camp, and this was a new tactic the Mujahideen are using.

As usually the infidels come out of theirs bases after the battle to collect theirs wounded and killed, but today they met another attack which they didn't expect, and that was an attack from the air.

anyway, these blessed attacks on these days, which the Mujahideen are attacking the camps of the infidels have become continuous, and the enemy expect them any hour, and they are only on defense after loosing hope of doing any other thing.

Defeater of Al-Ahzab (i.e. the clans of infidels),

Defeat the Ethiopian crusaders, their apostate brethren and who ever stands in their ranks.

150 Tigre, amongst them 20 generals were killed in explosions which the Mujahideen of Al-Shabaab targeted on some hotels inside Ethiopia.

Thursday 22 jamaadul-awal 1429 = 29/05/2008

The unit of Al-Shabaab Mujahideen fighting inside Ethiopia has by the grace of Allah attacked some hotels with explosions in the city of Nageyle, in south Ethiopia. And that led to the killing of 150 soldier and amongst them 20 generals.

These explosions whom the Mujahideen targeted on the hotels Nageyle and Shoote found place while the Tigre troops were celebrating.

The Soldiers of Allah came unexpected on the them while they(the tigre) were parting and drinking, and they(the Mujahideen) destroyed the Nageyle hotel completely to the ground, and this is the place were the disbelievers suffered hardest.

We (the Mujahideen) changed they celebrating to cry of mourning when they saw the dead and theirs meat flying, and that was a real act of revenge for the problems the enemy are doing against our people in Somalia in general.

This blessed attack find place in a time when similar attacks’ have been executed by some Mujahideen brothers in the area, and the enemy have suffered destruction as they them self have stated the death of 10 senior officers .

Middle East & Africa 24 April 2007

Before dawn this morning At 0430 AM local time in Ogaden, the 'Dufaan' commando unit of the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) conducted a military operation in the vicinity of Obala, 30km North-West of Degah-Bur in in Northern Ogaden. The operation targeted 3 military units of the TPLF regime who were guarding an oil exploration field. Exploration activities at the field began recently following an agreement between the Ethiopian government and a Chinese company.

As part of this agreement large areas inhabited by ethnic Somalis were cleared with civilians being forcefully removed from their homes by Ethiopian troops. In addition, Ethiopian forces closed off a large area denying the local nomadic population their traditional grazing areas in order to establish a security perimeter guarded by Ethiopian troops for the oil facility.

TPLF forces in Obala have now been wiped out with many having surrendered to ONLF commandos. Nearly 400 Ethiopian troops have been wounded or killed. Explosions caused by munitions during the battle resulted in the death of a handful of Chinese oil workers. The oil facility itself has been completely destroyed.

ONLF forces rounding up Ethiopian military prisoners following the battle came across 6 Chinese workers. They have been removed from the battlefield for their own safety and are being treated well.

The ONLF has stated on numerous occasions that we will not allow the mineral resources of our people to be exploited by this regime or any firm that it enters into an illegal contract with so long as the people of Ogaden are denied their rights to self-determination.

By refusing to discuss a comprehensive political solution to the Ogaden issue in a neutral country and in the presence of a third party, the TPLF regime has made clear its intention to continue to pursue a military solution in Ogaden. As such, we wish to reaffirm to the international community that the Ogaden region continues to be a battle zone between armed forces of the current TPLF led regime and our liberation forces. It is not a safe environment for any oil exploration to occur.

The ONLF has informed the Chinese government in the past that it would be unwise to pursue discussions with the TPLF as it was not in a position to guarantee the safety of any firm operating in Ogaden nor was it in a position to enter into contracts with foreign companies for Oil exploration in Ogaden. Unfortunately this warning fell on deaf ears.

We urge all international oil companies to refrain from entering into agreements with the Ethiopian government as it is not in effective control of the Ogaden despite the claims it makes.

Oil investments in Ogaden will result in a similar loss for any firm that believes assurances of security it receives from the Ethiopian government which has never been in effective control of Ogaden

Middle East & Africa April 24, 2007 02:34 PM

Hours after 7 Chinese and 65 Ethiopians were massacred in a daylight terrorist act, the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) proudly claimed responsibility for the killings. Another terrorist act, another terrorist organization and yet another terrorist group financed and armed by the Eritrean government. The Ethiopian Minister of information, yet

again, had to find words to express his sorrow and find stronger phrases to express this Ethiopia outrage at another fresh act sponsored by the Eritrean government. When the Islamist leader in Eritrea promised more massive attacks against Ethiopia, maybe he was talking about this and many more devastating attacks to come against the defenseless Ethiopians.

The Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) has been attacking civilians and security forces in Ethiopia for many years. However after the heavy measures taken by the Ethiopian government to remove the militants, things were improving until, just like the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF), ONLF also started to get full support from the Eritrean government. According to many sources including the International Crisis Group (ICG) the Eritrean government started training and arming Ogaden National Liberation Front fighters to attack Ethiopia.

So everything is back to square one.

The Ethiopian government gave Eritrea its independence while almost 85% of Ethiopians screamed against it and disapproved it. The government says it did that just to avoid more wars. The Ethiopian government also gave the historically Ethiopian regions of Asseb and Red Sea lands to Eritrea without the will of the Ethiopian people, just to avoid more wars. Even after Ethiopia won the 1998-2002 border war, it gave Eritrea most of the northern and western regions, "to avoid more wars," even while the Ethiopian people were angered by such a move. It also succumbed to international pressure just to make quick peace treaties that will never bring long-term solutions. The government did everything it can to avoid a war at the present, including giving Afar Ethiopian lands to Eritrea and angering millions of Ethiopians. If it gave anymore Ethiopian lands as a gift for Eritrea, the ruling party was sure to lose complete support even from its closest friends, so it is now clinging to a small dry border town called Badme.

Even Eritrean politicians, websites and Eritrean analysts are warning Ethiopia about the wicked and criminal acts of the Eritrean one-party government which is a government that has already banned all independent media inside Eritrea, banned all opposition parties and made the entire Protestant/evangelical religion illegal in the country.

Then when about half of the opposition political parties in the Ethiopian parliament told the ruling party not to go into Somalia, it went in anyway just to avoid another long war with Eritrea. The Ethiopian government believed the best way to avoid direct war with the Eritrean government was to remove the less equipped mercenaries of the Eritrean government stationed in Somalia. The ruling party, of course, held about 55% of the parliament votes anyway, so if the prime minister convinced his own party – the parliamentary resolution to send Ethiopian troops to Somalia had a great chance of being passed.

As expected, it did pass. But three months later, the question of Eritrea still lingers.

Nothing has improved.

Despite Ethiopian and Somali forces working together in Mogadishu, the Eritrean government sponsored terrorist groups like ONLF still managed to attack a Chinese oil firm this Tuesday morning and massacre 74 people. No matter the effort of the Ethiopian government, there will probably be another Eritrean invasion – another massive war.

The Eritrean government can plant bombs in Addis Ababa; assassinate Somali political leaders in Ethiopia; arm terrorists in Somali & Ethiopian borders; provoke violence in Ethiopia via its agents; arm militants in western Ethiopia borders to stage more attacks ; transport a shipload of weapons to terrorist groups in Mogadishu; kidnap innocent people; send its own soldiers to Somalia to attack Ethiopia from the south; organize dissidents against the Ethiopian government; start a war by bombing Ethiopian schools; and even proudly televise all these terrorist groups on its national TV – no matter what it does, the international community will never pass sanctions against it because the hesitant Europeans will always stay that way.

Letting go of Eritrea was the Ethiopian government’s biggest and original mistake. If there will be a next time, maybe the ruling party would listen to the majority of Ethiopians.

Of course Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi is half-Eritrean himself but that never bothered any Ethiopians because culturally, historically and in every way Eritrea is no different than Ethiopia. The Eritrean people themselves speak Ethiopian languages like Tigringa. Not just that, the Eritrea province was never accepted as a country by Ethiopians in the first place so there is no need to be concerned about the Prime Minister’s loyalty. But now, the Prime Minister’s Eritrean bloodline has never been louder and clearer to the Ethiopian people than the last five years of their endless misery brought by the regime in Eritrea. Even the overbearingly armed Italians who invaded Ethiopia two times since 1895 in Adwa city left the country completely embarrassed. Since 1991 – since day one when Ethiopia was persuaded to hand over the Eritrean province to a group of hooligans – the case of Eritrea has been a complete embarrassment for the pride, sovereignty and identity of Ethiopians in Ethiopia and worldwide. Unless things change soon, all of this gives Diaspora Ethiopians another reason why not to celebrate the upcoming Ethiopian Millennium by going back to their homeland because – with much of its territories gone – they don’t even recognize their country anymore.
